Dr. Bryan Harnsberger is originally from Somers, Connecticut and earned his B.A. in Psychology from Roger Williams University in 2007. He then earned his Masters in clinical psychology at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and Psy.D. from William James College in Newton, Massachusetts. Dr. Harnsberger has several research interests: including addictive disorders, leadership and organizational change, and developing new methods of outreach on college campuses. He has served as President of the Society for Descriptive Psychology from 2016-2017 and has sat on the organization’s board for the past 3 years.
His predoctoral training included work in an inpatient hospital treating dual diagnosis patients, school-based counseling, neuropsychological testing, and college counseling.
Dr. Harnsberger completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the Home for Little Wanderers, where he received training in motivational interviewing, solutions focused therapy, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, and specializes in treating depression and other mood disorders, anxiety and panic related issues, ADHD and addictive disorders.
Prior to joining Life Changes Group, Dr. Harnsberger worked at Suffolk University Counseling, Health and Wellness Department providing students with compassionate, empirically-based treatment for complex life issues that would require assistance. He also has worked as a consultant for non-profit and political organizations.
